I have always loved lamb and I can take the gamey smell and flavours pretty well. However every time I grill lamb chops on the stove, my kitchen and home will smell of the grill for days, not to mention the oily mess on my stove. Ever since I bought my Ninja Max air fryer, life has been so much better when it comes to cooking. I spend less time cooking and cleaning up, so much so that I’ve been using the air fryer almost daily. So here’s my recipe for Air Fryer Lamb Chops and Butter Potatoes.

How to Air Fryer Lamb Chops and Butter Potatoes

It’s actually really simple. I simply marinate the lamb chops with freshly crushed salt and black pepper, that’s the most basic and delicious way to flavour meat. I also like to throw in some rosemary herbs for that aroma. Just leave it for a while, I honestly don’t find a big difference in marinating for a long time vs cooking it almost immediately.

For the butter potatoes, just peel and cut the potatoes, add salt and black pepper and rosemary herbs, added a little bit of oil for that extra crispiness.

What kind of meat is lamb chops?

Lamb chops are basically cuts of lamb. You get lamb chops by cutting at an angle perpendicular to the spine. It is traditionally cooked and served with the bone in. You will usually find parts of the ribs and vertebrae in lamb chops.

Some folks might like to wash or rinse the meat before cooking it. However, washing raw meat is not recommended before cooking.

How do you cook lamb chops without the smell?

As you know lamb meat has a really unique smell. While I’m ok with it, using strong herbs such as rosemary can help to eliminate the unique smell. When preparing the meat during the marinade, rub in crushed rosemary leaves on the meat. The aroma of rosemary herbs while cooking is also really appealing.

I usually eat it with fork and knife at the dinner table. But I also like using my fingers to eat lamb chops and rip off the fats and meats.
